Willie Mays turns 80 on May 6th, and the World Champion Giants have big plans to celebrate their greatest player of all-time.
The World Champion San Francisco Giants have big plans to celebrate this season at AT@T Park. Cody Ross, Aubrey Huff, Buster Posey and Tim Lincecum Bobblehead giveaways...Brian Wilson T-Shirt and skateboard promotions for the kids...Giants trading cards, orange rally rags, belt buckles, Giants striped socks, Fireworks nights and other promotional creations....but the most valued giveaway will be a replica of the greatest Giant of them all. Willie Mays turns 80 on May 6th, and fans will be lining up on Cinco de Mayo with hopes of being among the first 20,000 fans for San Francisco's game against the Rockies, to receive a statue replica of the Say Hey Kid.
The price of success. Giants tickets cost goes up and supply virtually gone.
Season tickets sold number 28,000. Only 600,000 game day seats remain for the entire season. The World Champions will play to a sold out crowd for all 81 home games this year, and for those who can't buy a seat...take your place in the waiting list line! With limited availability, ticket prices have gone up as the demand far exceeds the supply. Expect Comcast's Giant TV ratings to go through the roof, with thousands of fans unable to enter AT&T to see their hero's play. Still, a clever marketing campaign will feed the frenzy using combinations of Giant players "acting" on TV commercials. The 30 second spots take a soft sell, and fun loving approach to selling the few remaining tickets.
